When they told me I was going to get my ulcers lasered…I panicked. I was thinking the worst. Dr. Mathias explained to me what was going to happen. I thought I was going to hurt because I didn’t have to be numb. I was really scared…Right after the procedure was done I didn’t feel anything anymore. The ENT doctor and my oncologist found a recurrence of Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, stage 4. Today was my first cleaning, and I must say that I found the whole experience to be very pleasant. The hygienist's friendliness and personable character made me feel very at ease. There is a vibratory oneness you create with your patient that we know that you are concerned and conscientious. It’s not something that could be taught, but comes from your purpose chosen when you decided on your profession. You don’t berate, warn, or scare me with what I might have been lax in doing, but just encourage me to pick it up again.
Whatever happens in the chair, I always leave feeling that I’ve been with a long-time friend that I can share anything with which also makes me feel free to share any teeth problems I might try to hide since I have a bit of fear and shyness.
You are truly the best in the state or from any experience I have had. Thank you for being who and what you are and choosing your profession and taking care of all our mouths. I can’t imagine why anyone would truly want to do that, but you do it with a flair of love, kindness, gentleness and competence. What more could anyone ask for.
